B.O.T.S.Ex. Volume I or Back Of The Sofa Experiments, is a new CD available soon, comprising of music or audio rediscovered on the hard-drive, just as you may find coins, or other artefacts such as cracker toys, & action-man accessories hidden down the back of the sofa amongst all the fluff, pet hair & fragments of Walkers Smokey Bacon crisps. These Experiments have yet to be used on any project (Hmmm - I wonder why?), all heavily Electronic, Avant Garde, & Experimental. Fortunately the BOTSEx abbrev. fits well with the mechanical nature of many of the tracks, & the use of porn samples within. Many of these pieces were to be broken up & used on the Psychoacoustics project as transition pieces between the main tracks, but that was in another age when the Psychoacoustic CD existed only as an hour long composition (this may also become available in the near future as a discounted CD). BOTSEx features 75 minutes of music / audio experiments split over 15 tracks, & will be available soon for the mighty sum of £5.00 GBP inc postage & Packing to UK mainland, I will post hi-lights on the website, soon. www.arcticbeard.co.uk

This CD is a cheeky attempt to make some cash out of mainly un-used scrap material.

Arcticbeard appeared on Radio Bristols 'Uncovered' program Sunday 27th January 2008. Hosted by Richard Pitt & Gary Smith, they seemed amused by the Arcticbeard music & cards they were sent at Christmas, they read out some of the Circus oSC+ Titles. Some of the comments they made: -

Arctic has been learning HTML, & other web languages. Partly because he wants to learn it, & partly to build a new website, (In fact the new website is part of the learning process). The new website will be faster, & easier to navigate, as you will be able to access any page from the first page, (not too many hidden pages).
This will not be online for a while yet. But I thought I would mention it.

Arctic has been collecting more instruments for further experimentation, and also been searching thro' his archives for music to ressurect, and discovering & learning new ways to compose & create sounds. Over the last few months he has also been circuit bending some synths & toys for sampling, & collecting sounds with his field recorder.

Today he has been working on a new piece, which is not quite as nuts as the usual stuff, this could sit nicely within the Jake project.

dont worry folks, I have been keeping a close eye on arcticbeard, he has not give up, he has been experimenting with sounds, & noises, & has also created a couple more atmospheric tracks. Today Arcticbeard will be carrying out a small modification to his studio to incorporate a new piece of apparatus.

Circus Ring Piece - Lyrics

The brown clown took a lot of coaxing
To come out from behind the chocolate curtain
He made noises from behind the curtain that made everyone laugh

The crowd erupted as he poked his head out
from behind the curtain and made faeces
he was terribly prone to stage-fright,
he got nervous & dashed back behind the curtain

He poked his head out again (uh) & this time he was pushed
(one too free Forsyths sick heaven clap clap clap )
It always took a lot of effort to get the clown out (ring scrape noise)
as one time the back door shut on him & almost cut him in two.

Finally after much effort from behind the scenes
& much cheering from the red faced crowd
the clown dashed out of the ring
almost slipping on a cob of sweetcorn

As the clown dashed out of the ring headfirst
he narrowly missed knocking his head on the pink elephants’
long, wrinkly trunk, which happened to be dangling over the edge of the ring

The clown was very entertaining & once the clown had come out
everyone felt much better.
The clowns act was very messy, cuss-turd pies anal, so the ring master had to come out
& wipe down the ring with a large cloth, (ring wiping noise – to fade)

Avant Garde-A Collage of melodies, belches, farts, choirs, bells, pianos, guitar, drums, flute, unrecognisable noise, porn movie dialog, groans, synth, vintage organ, kids toys, sound FX, Animal Grunts & lyrics. Sounds very hectic in places, subtle/atmospheric in other all with a humorous & disturbing edge

Now this is good stuff. so unlike most of the so called experimental pablum being released today. I play a 27 panel Serge modular/voltage controlled synth. I make strange noise, but your stuff is quite unique. Keep it up! regards
